March success!!

What a amazing group!!!!! In four days of mobile clinic we fed four villages and treated just over 900 patients! Words can not express the gratitude we have for this experience! In addition to feeding four villages we fed all patients at the clinic and two remaining villages along with the staff here at HCM! Amazing! These trips happen as a result of so many amazing people opening there hearts and eyes! Over 200 dresses and shorts were donated by St. John’s church in Caledonia and distributed to a village with nothing but t shirts. Thanks to all who made it possible! Photos and video to come when we return to the USA!

March 23rd – 30th Medical Mission

Find the inner HERO in you! Volunteer your time, energy, efforts, and heart to Haiti!

MARCH 23rd – 30th

Surgical

Now Needed:

Volunteer Physicians & Nurses with clinical skills for short term relief missions.

Volunteer Dentists, Dental Hygienists, and Dental Assistants for short-term relief missions.

Volunteer Photographers/Videographers for short term relief missions.

[pay.it.forward.ayiti] is recruiting healthcare professionals to volunteer for short-term medical mission trips to Haiti. The need for medical professionals and quality healthcare workers who can volunteer their time in Haiti has reached desperate proportions. The team will provide health education and medical care to men, women, and children in remote areas of Haiti where there is little or no access to basic medical care.

Medical teams participate in mobile field clinic and provide assistance to existing healthcare facility in Fond Parisien, Haiti. [pay.it.forward.ayiti] medical teams see on average 300 men, women, and children per day. They also provide specialty consultation and health education to Haitian medical professionals to help build personnel capacity to meet Haiti’s long-term healthcare needs.

Non Medical Volunteers are also needed and welcome to help with building needs at HCM, assist in set up and take down of mobile clinic, greet and direct patients, register incoming patients, etc. Volunteers will be placed according to their gifts and abilities.

[cost]

Air Travel + Ground cost of $475. The total cost is typically ~$1300, which covers travel expenses and ground cost (in-country room/board, ground transportation, mission essentials, and interpreters). Fees are tax deductible, and we offer great support to help you raise money you need for the trip.

Once your application is approved, a non-refundable deposit of $100 US is required to reserve your place on the mission trip. The balance of $375 is due at least one month prior to departure.

[requirements]

A valid passport  is required for travel outside the United States. All volunteers must have Typhoid, Tetanus, Hepatitis A and B vaccinations as well as Malaria prophylaxis (typically Chloroquine). For more information check the CDC website.

[logistics]

Flight Reservation will be made by the Haitian Christian Mission office. The sooner the reservation is made, the lower the airfare will be. Upon your arrival to Haiti, you will be well cared for by HCM field staff from the beginning to the end of your mission experience. All flights, ground transportation, and room/board in Haiti will be arranged and organized by HCM and Amy Heaney including preparing the itinerary for your team’s mission. The team will stay at Haitian Christian Mission’s guesthouse, in Fond Parisien, Haiti near the Dominican Republic border.

[considerations]

Assisting with a medical mission trip requires the ability to travel for up to seven consecutive days in third-world conditions. The Haitian Christian Mission’s guesthouse is very comfortable and secure. Mission trips are both physically and emotionally exhausting, although they are incredibly rewarding and unforgettable both for the participants and the people they help.

Our teams are typically limited to 25 volunteers. If you are interested in being a team member on a mission trip, Please complete and return to

[Amy Heaney/909 Nancy Court SW, Eyota, MN 55934] the mission team Application Form and contact [pay.it.forward.ayiti] to reserve your spot today.
